About the celebration.
Copenhagen Beer Celebration was arranged the first time in 2012. The goal was to gather the absolute best brewers around the world and simply celebrate them and their fantastic beers. The 2012 version was a huge success, where 2000 beer fanatics from all over the world gathered in Copenhagen to share their passion with equally minded fanatics. At first the CBC 2012 was intended to be a one time event, but due to the huge amount of positive feedback from both brewers and beer fanatics we decided to do it again – and this is why we now can present CBC 2013 3rd & 4th May.

Even though the goal and most of the concept is the same, the 2013 version will differ in some ways from the 2012. We gained a lot of experience in 2012 and therefore we have changed some of the conceptual practical stuff. The following is a description of the whole festival.

Sessions
CBC will take place the 3rd and 4th of May 2013. There will be three different 5 hour sessions during the Celebration.

Yellow Session on Friday the 3rd, running from 15.00 to 20.00 (3.00 pm to 8.00 pm).
Red Session on Saturday the 4th, 11.30 to 16.30 (11.30 am to 4.30 pm).
Blue Session on Saturday the 4th, 18.00 to 23.00 (6.00 pm to 11.00 pm)

All brewers will bring 3 beers for each session and all beers will be different for each session. This means that each session practically is a new event. Participate in one session and you will have access to 90 of the best beers in the world. Participate in all 3 and you will have access to 270.

If you buy tickets for both early and late Saturday – we promise to keep you entertained in the break.

Tickets
At 3.33 CET+1 you log on to www.billetlugen.dk and buy your ticket for the session(s) you want to attend.
The ticket price is DDK 450/ EURO60/ USD 78 pr. session. Once you have your ticket, you don´t have to worry about tokens; all beers are yours for the taking. That saves you from fumbling around with plastic-thingies, glasses, papers, coins; you can just kick back and start tasting. The tickets also includes glass and entrance. This year food is not included in the ticket.

Food
One of the main goals of Copenhagen Beer Celebration is to present beer in a gastronomic context. Last year we invited everybody for one big dinner hosted by Mielcke & Hurtigkarl – this year will be a bit different. We have invited 6 different chefs from 6 totally different restaurants to come and make their version of a dish that fits perfectly to beer. Every chef will have their own booth and will be open during the whole festival. This way you can choose yourself what you want to pare with your Bourbon BA Imperial Stout or Citra Single Hop IPA and when you want something to eat.

The surroundings.
As mentioned we gained a lot of practical experience last year. Therefore there are a lot of key elements that will be improved for the 2013 version.

Due to the new approach of presenting the food there will be a seating area available all time for both sampling beers and eating food.

Many guests will ask again and again for a list of beers at the celebration; we will provide this in the following way. There is no printed program; there will be an online, constantly updated list for CBC 2013. Since we have asked the brewers to make the best beer they can throw at us, we have to leave space for last minute changes and last minute changes don’t work well together with printed programs.

As a new thing we have a wardrobe, run by a local non-profit organization. Your money will help them a long way and you don´t have to worry about carrying stuff around.

For the 2013 there will be a new bottle shop carrying a lot of the breweries limited beers and merchandise. So bring a bag – if you don’t think you can manage to sample 270 beers in two days, then don’t. Bring the celebration home with you.

Master Classes
Copenhagen Beer Celebration is all about getting under the skin of the brewers and the beers. That’s why we will arrange a series of free lectures and master classes held by all the great brewers. All brewers will discuss different subject and all master classes will be announced beforehand on copenhagenbeercelebration.com and during the Celebration.
