Beer Geek Breakfast at the Touch of a Button

Mikkeller x iGulu: The Ultimate Homebrewer Kit Doesn't Exis...

The story of Mikkeller started with homebrewing. Mikkel Bjergsø, founder of Mikkeller, started fermenting beer in a plastic bucket in his kitchen in Copenhagen, next to his day job as a teacher, more than 20 years ago. Before Walter White.
One of the things that came out of that kitchen was Beer Geek Breakfast, an oat stout finished with coffee from a French press. The beer that truly put Mikkeller on the map. In 2006 it was named the best stout in the world.

On the other side of the world, a homebrewer named Zhang Shu was having his own kind of breakthrough. He'd been fermenting for years. One afternoon, a batch of beer exploded and hit the ceiling.
That was the starting point for iGulu, a machine built to take the mess and the guesswork out of fermenting at home, without taking out the part where you actually make it yourself. It's since grown into a full home brewing platform used by fermenters around the world.

Mikkeller and iGulu are now partnering to bring fresh Mikkeller beer to homebrewers everywhere, starting with the beer that started it all: Beer Geek Breakfast.
Fill it with water and the ingredient kit, scan the recipe card, hit start. iGulu handles temperature, fermentation and carbonation from there. It’s pretty cool, we think.

Kits ship globally this winter, just in time to land under the tree, or to be the new year's resolution you'll actually keep: brew more beer at home in 2027.
