READY FOR DAS OKTOBERFEST

October in Denmark is mostly known for grey skies and rain, but this year it will be all about Bayern. In Germany, Oktoberfest means weeks of drinking amazing beer, schlager hits, wurst, and pretzels flying through the air, so we thought to ourselves “how can we do that here in Copenhagen?” the answer was easy: by teaming up with legendary brewery Maisel, for two days of Bavarian mayhem.

Every great bierfest requires a true-to-tradition Bayern bier and we’re not just serving any random one. While preparing the venue Mikkeller BaghavenWarpigshave hi-jacked the brewers from Maisel’s Weisse to make our very first collab with a traditional Bavarian brewery (first of its kind in the world?)

And of course this will be a beer that showcases the best of both worlds. We are brewing a mixed fermentation brew where we combine Maisel’s classic Bavarian yeast with our Vermont yeast to create the classic South German wheat style with the crazy haze from New England, says assistant brewer at WarPigs, Duff Wallace.

On the food side, Warpigs is creating a traditional German style dinner to accompany all the heavy drinking, Schlager bands and DJ’s who’ll be playing all night long.

As self proclaimed kings of pork and sausages (and all things BBQ), Chef Andrew Hroza have created the Oktoberfest menu to both highlight the German food we all love, but also to inject the WarPigs flare to best keep you in the spirit to crush beer and party all night.
